I remember it particularly because I was laid up with a cast up to my knee after the stupidest thing I've ever done (I keep promising to post about that).

Distributorcap-
Thanks!

I spent a couple of summers working construction (with asphalt no less!) in a couple of the hottest summers we've had in Chicago. I guess it trained me to deal with heat. I'm looking forward to warmer days.

Churlita-
Yeah, I know few musicians who didn't partake of the drug scene.

I also remember that the song that got airplay from Zanes' first solo album (not a kid's album) was about going to get an AIDS test-- apparently he lived the full rock and roll lifestyle.

I think that the first version of Pressure Drop, in my callow youth, was Robert Palmer's. Hearing the original and the Clash' was a revelation.Johnny Yenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06561248220244037567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33543511.post-80915980298111492702009-06-15T09:42:14.503-05:002009-06-15T09:42:14.503-05:00I know a guy who used to play sax for the Violent ...I know a guy who used to play sax for the Violent Femmes and he said he cracks up every time he sees the Del Fuegos guy on TV doing all the kid's stuff. He says all he can think of is all the coke he did when they toured together. It's funny how people change when they get older.

I love Toots and the Maytals. Pressure Drop is a great song to run to.Churlitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05018288474865559384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33543511.post-29677866010296156432009-06-14T14:06:47.725-05:002009-06-14T14:06:47.725-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Wonderful World of Weinershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12704174092907120103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33543511.post-3608323086284115342009-06-14T14:06:43.341-05:002009-06-14T14:06:43.341-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Wonderful World of Weinershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12704174092907120103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33543511.post-18471805444037444262009-06-13T05:00:22.476-05:002009-06-13T05:00:22.476-05:00this has been the coldest june --- nice mix this w...this has been the coldest june --- nice mix this weekDistributorcaphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10149154929149577121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33543511.post-60194675729632759552009-06-13T02:34:11.007-05:002009-06-13T02:34:11.007-05:00This one's worth much just for the song titles...This one's worth much just for the song titles. "Sunday Morning Coming Down" is a perfect example.

Oorah! Personally, I prefer cool to hot. In fact one time, must have been in the late 80s, it was hotter than Hades in Chicago while staying at a friend's un-AC'd place. Hated it.Erik Donald Francehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02332500850365598564noreply@blogger.com
