Maybe We Need To Reconsider

The prevailing Yen family belief is that of our two resident cats, Fatboy is the less smart. So when Kim bought a bed for the cats, and they decided that my backpack and other less comfortable things were better places to rest, we began to wonder which one of them was going to figure out that the bed was more comfortable than a bag with books and pens in it.

Since Helga had shown herself to be smarter, in general, than Mingus (aka Fatboy), we assumed she'd be the first to figure it out. We were wrong, as you can see. We thought that maybe, in the end, he's not as dumb as we thought.

But then again, maybe he's just lazier.

Seeing as fatboy is a guy, I am going to vote for lazy!

That's not smarts, that's pure instinct!

I'd definitely vote lazy, he got tired of climbing up onto a bag.

Our Yorkie studiously ignores the new bed the wife bought for her, except for when she actually butts it around with her nose when we play. I'm under the impression that she thinks it's a really big toy of some kind.

My cats love to sleep on my purse -- filled with pens lipsticks and brushes and unnecessary plastic objects. My theory is they think I'll stay home if they're sleeping on it.

The bed is boyish looking......red and plaid.....bring home a pink bed and see if the girlie kitty will like that...

he couldn't figure out how to get comfortable on the back pack and got lazy.

He does look cozy, although he barely fits! My cat sleeps on top of the world's lumpiest backpack as well. It's a feline thing.

One of our cats likes to sleep on top of purses or empty cardboard boxes that are almost big enough, so she spills out over the top.

The other cat will only sleep on a people bed or a chair.

The pet bed I bought: no one can be bothered.
