I've read and heard that Jon Stewart, of Comedy Central, has the best news show on television. Today, my old friend Tasneem sent me a link to this clip and a couple of my favorite bloggers, Texas Oasis and Skyler's Dad have it linked on their blogs, and I have to share it as well.
The Right is going to fear-monger and bloviate, distort and out and out lie one more time to try to pick our pockets one more time. Viva Jon Stewart for pointing this out!

I wonder if they could play this footage during the debates?
They will stoop to new lows in order to win this election JY, and I fear they just may pull it off.
A summary would be nice. I've never gotten one of these comedy central clips to work. I give up after 10 minutes of loading. It's not bandwidth or anything: all Youtube and other videos start within 10 seconds or less.
Yeahdawg! Jon Stewart rocks -- but I have to disagree with skylersdad. Obama will pull it off, as he did in the primaries and perhaps in the same subtle way.
CP-
I wish!
The debates should be interesting, to say the least. John McCain's impulsiveness has saddled him with a VP pick that negates a lot of his arguments about Barack Obama's supposed lack of experience (although he had a lot of experience in the Illinois legislature) and will cost him more women's votes than it will gain him-- he's definitively cast his lot with the anti-choicers.
Skyler's Dad-
I fear it too, though every poll except CBS' places Obama with a five percent lead. CBS has them at a dead heat.
Dmarks-
I've remedied that-- I found the clip on Youtube and just posted it.
Erik-
Obama's political instincts are incredible. I think he's going to find a way to keep his lead. He's leading in Ohio and Pennsylvania, two key states. He's also not forgetting that the small states matter too. He's ahead slightly in North Dakota. He's at about a dead heat in Florida. If he can swing Florida, I think he's got it.
I think that his political instincts will serve him well in office. We need big changes-- we need to massively upgrade our national rail system, as well as the mass transit systems of every major city. Our Mayor Daley is eyeing a huge upgrade of the mass transit system-- it'll be key to getting the Olympics here in 2016, and damn it, we just need it.
Yeah man! Excellent!
Thanks also for your earlier comments about Amtrak -- very helpful.
