Was It Just Me?

I saw the news story that President Obama, while visiting Queen Elizabeth of England, gave her an Ipod. According to the New York Times, the Ipod contained videos and photos of her 2007 visit to the United States, and some songs.

Was I the only one wondering if our Chief Executive succumbed to the temptation to slip the Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen" onto the Ipod?

I always saw her as a Queen fan, but that's just me.

Funny, that. The BBC reports that nah, he skipped that particular temptation. . .

Which triggers a memory from 1999 -- I worked for an old befuddled rich guy setting up his first email account while he claimed his wife was a spitting image of the Queen -- he had a nude picture of her (his wife) wearing a crown on his office wall. Talk about the weirdness -- two mice jumped over his slippered feet, and I couldn't bring myself to try to tell him. For $50/hour, best to let him live in his own bizarro world. But -- his wife *did* resemble the Queen, at least in the face. I wouldn't know about the rest.

I actually got teary eyed watching a news story about Michele Obama's visit over there.
