What Does This Say About My Musical Taste?

Just a while ago, I finished taking an online quiz, completing the work for my Biology 121 class (I also took a final this morning). As I finished, I kept hearing what I thought was an ipod or radio playing. I looked around the house and realized what the sound was-- our neighbor Bob, who is doing some of the renovation work (he is not the one, by the way, who filled our home with gasoline exhaust fumes last week). He was sawing wood for the trellis he is building in the backyard.

I could have sworn it was the Ramones...

If you can't hear me I can always speak louder!

Funny. Mr. Ten S asked if I'd like to listen to some music at dinner last night. I told him "no," because I'd had exactly two hours of sleep and had been in paper hell and just needed some quiet time. He looked at me and said, "You know, music doesn't HAVE to be loud." Then he put on something nice. I have no idea what it was.

Funny, I had a similar moment the other day, and it was traffic going by on snowy/icy pavement.

An honest mistake; the Ramones were not exactly Mozart.

Wait. Music doesn't have to be loud?

I say "MUSIC DOESN'T HAVE TO BE LOUD?"

Now I'll be thinking of the Ramones the next time SV is sawing wood in his sleep!

johnny

around these parts EVERYONE saws wood to the ramones ---- it is required..

and as i found out recently the ramones (at least some of them) were big bush supporters

enough reason to turn them off

Skyler's Dad-
Yeah, but it was usually my music that was blowing those speakers!

Natalie-
Thanks! It was kind of a shock taking a final after ten years away from school.

Grant-
What?

Monica-
What?

TenS-
What? Music doesn't have to be loud? When did this happen?

Bubs-
Perhaps you thought it was some old Kraftwerk-- perhaps Autobahn?

Barbara-
Are you telling me that Mozart knew a fourth chord?

Deadspot-
What?

Kristi-
Hey, maybe you can record it and sell it to deaf knuckleheads like me....

Distributorcap-
Yes, Johnny was a Republican. Very weird-- the overwhelming majority of punks are liberals or even further left. Joey Ramone was a big liberal and Democratic supporter. It was a big bone of contention between he and Johnny Ramone, who hated one another with a passion-- they didn't speak to one another for years, even though they performed together. What's worse, Johnny stole Joey's girlfriend away. The song "The KKK Took My Baby Away" is about that. If you get a chance, watch "End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones." It's all in there.

"The KKK Took My Baby Away" is actually my favorite Ramones song. Spooney sang in a Ramones tribute band for a while, and I saw them play out a LOT.

I love it when he talks to me in his Joey Ramone voice.

Vikki-
It's my favorite Ramones song too!
