Senior League Yankees vs. Senior League Mets, May 19, 2007
My son's baseball team, the Senior League Yankees, evened up their record to 2-2, with a 10-1 victory over the Senior League Mets.
My ex and I caught this little interchange, where our son was consulting with one of his coaches. We laughed about this-- at 13, he's in full teenager mode. He'll listen attentively to his coaches, but not us.
The head coach's son Nick turned in a great pitching perfomance...
...and the Yankees' bats were alive!

10 to 1. Damned near a mercy ruling if you asked me.
Looks like a great day for a ball game.
Nice pictorial JY, fun to see!
Bink's team has had two games called due to the fact that they were slaughtering the other team. Win or lose, I love watching the games (as long as it's not 40 degrees).
Cool, way to go Adam!
The day looked like it couldn't have been more perfect. I always enjoy how you so obviously adore your son.
JR-
They were close to doing that, but we ran out of time (they had to finish by 10:30 so that the next game could start). The win was especially good, because the invoked the "slaughter rule" in their game last Monday-- they lost something like 15-2.
Barbara-
It was! It's a beautiful park, that's a block and a half from our home. The building in the background is one of the largest library branches in the city, as well. We love our neighborhood.
Skyler's Dad-
Thanks! It was a pleasure to share it. I really look forward to baseball season every year, almost as much as he does.
TenS-
Like I told JR, we had the slaughter rule invoked Monday-- they were playing sloppily, got behind and got discouraged. They really came back yesterday.
Kristi-
Thanks!
He smacked the crap out of it in that first shot, but grounded to first for an out. This is probably the best team he's been on. The other players help him out a lot and encourage him.
Toccata-
It was perfect for a ball game-- sunny, but not too hot. And yes, I adore him-- you noticed! But don't tell him-- he's a teenager!
Nice pics. Are all the parents of the same temperment as you? supportive without being rude and obnoxious?
Ahhh, the boys of summer return. And yes, it is obvious that you adore the boy!
